There are seven truths I live by. 7 Truths that frame my soul on a foundation of 3 pillars to create 1 universe.

 

The first truth

The governing principal in nature is that of cause and effect

 

The second truth

The way to understand the cause and the effect is through radical honesty

 

The third truth

Diversity is life

 

The fourth truth

The individual is divine

 

The fifth truth

Freedom is a state of mind

 

The sixth truth

You are the master of your truth

 

The seventh truth

There is no truth that is eternal

When truth ends, you are home

 

 

The first pillar: Love

 

Love what you do. Love who you are. Love, to a fundamental degree, your very existence. Love the web you are a part of. Love the fact that you are aware of your individuality and love and respect the ones who do too. Love and respect the ones who are in the process of opening their eyes, however small it may be.

 

The second pillar: Learn

 

Learn from every experience, especially the hard and harsh ones. The hardest lessons are the most rewarding. Learn whatever and whenever you can but always learn in love. Learning with hate or frustration in your heart clouds the mind and will never grant you any freedom or progress. It will just mark a lesson not learned and that needs to be repeated.

 

The third pillar: Let go

 

We all die alone and ultimately forgotten and thus forced to let this life go. All we do is for ourselves. If we are able to let go in love whilst learning all we can, we can let go in peace. Every time you let something go in peace you rehearse for the short night. Every time you are experiencing the short night you practice for infinity.

 

Living by these three fundamental values, allows all the darkness and evil inside and around you, to present itself in clear form. This is the only way to truly merge with that inseparable otherwise veiled part of you and find what it has to teach you … ultimately letting it go as you will let go of all to become ALL, while respecting your true and divine individuality. You are a universe!

 

To me, metal in general and Blackmetal specifically, is opening the darkest parts of your soul to free all those hidden forces of old. To bring them to the surface and learn from them. Lovingly accept all the sides of my universe they represent while resonating to those specific sonic vibrations that we know all too well. At one point I will need to let this go too, but not just yet ... It's just epic!

 

The journey with Krijs is all about this: opening the soul to release the darkest shit that's in there. Maybe strange to speak in terms of "love" in this sense, but I do absolutely love to dwell in the atmosphere of melancholy, strength, epic wildness and total freedom and all it may teach me.
